EATING FRUITS - It's an Informative Story

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?
IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!  FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.
FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.
Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene - the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can you believe this?
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup, warm water or warm beer after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive...

Smart Approach to Weight Loss

Everywhere you look these days there are ads for weight-loss programs offering to produce impressive results.  If you want to attain your ideal body weight, your energy of calorie intake should be equal to the energy expended during the day.  This is the concept of "energy balance" as referred to in nutrition books.  Not many people are content with their weight.  Make this time be realistic about your looks.  If you need to loose a few pounds make that your goal.  When you notice you are gaining weight reduce your calorie intake.  It is much easier to remove excess in the early stages.

Does sweating make you lose weight?

You do loss weight when you sweat a lot but that’s all water, not fat says a fitness instructor.  The fat comes off when you burn off more calories than you take in-mainly through diet and exercise.  However, if you don’t replace all the liquid you leave yourself open to cramps, dizziness, constipation, kidney problems and other complications.  The secret: Drink plenty of water before during and after strenuous workouts or activities that make you sweat says a fitness expert.
Does caffeine help you lose weight?

Studies show that caffeine tends to suppress your appetite; and make you feel more active.  Research says a coffee only temporarily controls craving.  Once the high caffeine wears off, your need to feed will come back.  Research has shown  that the caffeine from three cups of coffee still has stimulating effects on the body eight hours later.

Know some smart approach to weight loss from a famous dietitian.  How to lose weight:

  • Don’t copy the diet of other.  What works for someone may not work for you.  After all, each individual has a different metabolic makeup.
  • Low fat diet.  That doesn’t mean deprivation, but that doesn’t mean over-indulgence, too. Cutting out red meat and alcohol and everything else in moderation could mean a healthy weight loss overtime.  What’s important is to stop cheating on yourself.  Ask for skin to be removed on chicken dishes such as chicken rice, or simply remove the skin before eating.  Leave behind the gravy, especially coconut-based ones.  This help to reduce the saturated fat by as much as 50 percent.  And look for items that are roasted, grilled, steamed, boiled or stewed.  These items are prepared without excess fat.
  • Benefits of vegetables.  Select a serving of vegetables.  This will help fill you up and add thirty-five percent more dietary fiber to the meal.
  • Balance your calorie intake. You have a high-fat or high-calorie item, balance it off with items that contain lower fat and calorie the rest of the day.
  • Balanced diet. Eat balanced diet.  Dietitian revealed that choosing "good foods" over "bad" foods doesn’t make any difference if you consume plateful after plateful.  As long as you eat in moderation and try to stick for balanced diet, you can eat everything.

             Balanced diet
  • Eat only when hungry.  If you often find yourself eating when you are not really hungry, try to figure out what your feelings are.  Ask yourself- are you eating because of boredom, loneliness, sadness or anger.  Do something more constructive instead of filling your emotional emptiness with food like you can surf the internet, or go for a walk or have a talk with a friend.  The minute you are full, stop eating.  It’s easy to forget that you have been munching for hours when you are watching TV.  Let your tummy tell you when it’s enough and listen to it.
  • Eat less, lose weight.  Put less food in your plate.  Dish out the food in the kitchen and bring the plates to the table, don’t serve meals in family style.
  • Oil measurement.  Get into the habit of measuring the oil you use while you cook, rather than just pouring it out of the bottle.  It will be much easier to moderate the amount of use.
  • Benefits of olive oil.  Use olive oil for cooking when appropriate, it adds to the taste of the dish and is better for you.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Use a stair instead of elevator
  • Don’t try to get the closest parking space at the mall.
  • Do power dancing.  Instead   of just standing there looking like a scarecrow, wriggle, bend, swing your arms, power dance to music.

What Causes Asthma

Medical authorities say asthma is a severe allergic disorder that is common in children and adolescents.  Affected people have hyper-responsive airways, the key element in asthma.  The airways when exposed to various triggers become inflamed and narrow, thereby restricting natural flow.
The airways produce excess mucus in response to the inflammation, which further blocks the flow of air.  In the airways the small muscles may also contact in spasm, leaving the asthma sufferer distraught and breathless.  Asthma sufferers may experience one or more of the following symptoms according to a medical doctor:
  • asthma chest pain
  • breathing difficulty
  • wheezing (a whistling sound while breathing)
  • coughing (with or without thick sputum)
People with asthma have airways that are irritable or supersensitive to things that do not bother people who do not have asthma.  This things are called triggers.  According to Lung Center Asthma Club if you are an asthmatic and you are near or come in contact with triggers, they may start an asthma episode. Your airways become swollen, produce too much mucus, and tighten up.  The Club enumerates the common cause that triggers asthma episode.
What causes asthma
  • molds
  • cockroaches
  • cold
  • pollens from trees and grasses
  • strenuous exercise or physical activity
  • changes in temperature or weather
  • house dust mites present in dust
  • irritant substances like smokes from cigarettes and wood
  • scented products (hair spray),
  • cleaning products (odors from fresh paint)
  • automobiles fumes
  • showing strong feeling of crying or laughing
In some cases asthma sufferers may have inherited the disease from other member of the family.  A doctor explained that some people carry an abnormal form of a gene which controls the production of an antibody.  People with this genetic defect are also vulnerable to conditions such as hay fever, allergies and eczema.  A famous doctor noted that more than half of the children diagnosed as having asthma will never have an asthmatic attack as an adult.  Another ten percent will have only occasional attacks during adult life.
In an article, Take Care of Yourself, medical doctors noted that some people have only one or two episodes of asthma and are never trouble again, other people will have daily attacks; these severely compromise their activity to function normally.
Asthma treatment
  • Therapy provides relief of symptoms, but must also work to remove the cause, whether it is infectious, allergic or emotional
  • Hydration therapy is recommended.  According to doctors water and other fluids taken by mouth are very important.  Water can help loosen the mucus in the lungs and make breathing easier.
  • Symptomatic relief of asthma is provided through a variety of prescription medications.  Doctor says corticosteroids drugsare effective in severe asthmatic patients.  They block the smooth muscle contractions that narrow the airway passages but also have many side effects like growth retardation.  If possible nebulizer should be avoided; it may cause fatal reactions added the doctors.
  • Doctors recommend swimming.  It appears to be the best sport for asthmatic patients.  Exercise programs with long and steady energy requirements seem to work the best says the doctors.

Keep laptops away from lap to protect sperm

NEWYORK: Using a laptop computer as the name suggests may not be good for male reproductive health, according to a study.

And there is little that can be done about it, aside from using the laptop on a desk, said Yelim Sheynkin, a urologist at the State University of New York at Stony Brook who led the study published in Fertility and Sterility. In the study, thermometers were used to measure the temperature of the scrotums of 29 young men balancing a laptop on their knees. Even with a lap pad under the computer, the men's scrotums overheated quickly.

"Millions and millions of men are using laptops now, especially those in the reproductive age range," said Sheynkin. "Within 10 or 15 minutes their scrotal temperature is already above what we consider safe, but they don't feel it," he added.

According to the American Urological Association, nearly one in six couples in the US have trouble conceiving . About half the time this is due to male infertility. Under normal circumstances, the position of the testicles outside the body keeps them a few degrees cooler than the inside of the body, which is necessary for sperm production.

Earlier research has showed that warming the scrotum even more than 1°C is enough to damage sperm.

Dress For Your Position

You have been working for a firm for years now.  You have been hardworking employee and a sticker to the company’s policies and regulations.  You never been late and you work overtime even on holidays when the need arises. But how come you keep getting overlooked for promotion.  Your best friend says your shrinking violet image needs a drastic makeover.  Your friend could be right.

These are some tips from the Boardroom could be of help on how to dress for your position.
  • Dress for your position.  You should always project an image of professionalism if you are a manager, even on casual days.  You should still try to dress better than the best-dressed expensive; you can get plenty of budget-friendly pieces.
  • Bad odor alert.  According to research body odor is describe as that pungent odor that occurs when bacteria, which naturally thrives on the body, mixes with sweat from glands in your armpits.  Normally, your deodorant kills more of the bacterial before it combines with your sweat. However, if these supersensitive sweat glands become overactive due to increased stress, your brand may falter.  That can lead to bad odor (BO)  To see if another brands active ingredients works better for you, try switching antiperspirants.
  • Keep your nails trimmed and clean.  File your nails in an oval or square shape.  Trim off any hangnails.  If you wear nail polish, stick to clear or soft shades.
  • Closed-toed shoes still evoke the more professional image.  Don’t buy shoes that feel too tight and expect them to stretch to fit.  Your heel should fit comfortable in the shoe with a minimum amount of slipping.  The shoe should not ride up and down on your heel when you walked.  Heels should be one to two inches high.  Unless it is the norm, sneakers are inappropriate for office even on casual days.
  • Hair grooming.  Your  hairstyle should draw attention to your face, not to cover or overpower it.  Hair is a badge of identity.  Your hair needs attention and care.  Flyaway hair makes you look haggard and unprofessional.  To keep hair in place even in the most stressful situations, invest in a good hairbrush and blow dryer.  If your hair falls past your shoulders, braid it or pin it back with a clip.  You may want to stick to shorter hairstyles if your hair is unruly.  Although we have individual hair preferences, there are certain rules of thumb-based on the shape and features of your face, the age, the texture and your lifestyle.  Consult with your hair stylist about the best style for your face shape.
  • A suit with a skirt is a power suit.  Law and accounting firms are conservative you should stick to dark colors.  Black, navy and dark neutrals always work so consider the field you are in.
  • Keep accessories minimal.  The pieces should match your face size and shape but should not overpower you.  Before you go to work check yourself in the mirror.  If the first thing, you notice is the glitter and not the face, you might want to wear another set of jewelry or remove some pieces.
  • Makeup should be blended.  To even up your skin tone, use foundation. Pick a shade as close to your skin tone as possible and apply lightly.  According to skin experts, foundation is supposed to look like your skin. Your foundation is too heavy if you see streaks across the face.  Your foundation is the wrong shade if your face is a different color from your neck.  Pick a lipstick in a soft shade that matches tour skin’s undertone.
  • Keep your breath fresh. Always have a breath mints in your bag for after lunch or coffee.  If you smoke, brush your teeth after.  Having bad breath is a sure way to turn people off.
Planning what you wear is the only first step, but it goes a long way towards building a good corporate image.  You feel good about yourself when you like how you look.  When you exude confidence, people’s trust in you will follow.
